In hopes of bringing people together to fight cancer, the Canadian Cancer Society will be holding a Relay for Life in Whitecourt on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
Open to all ages, officials say this year’s relay will once again see participants make their way around a track to raise money for CCS while celebrating people living with and beyond cancer, as well as remembering those we have lost.
Officials say the event will incorporate signature relay components, including an opening ceremony filled with inspiring stories and a first lap led by Participants of Hope, followed by a Luminary Ceremony to honour and remember loved ones.
The relay runs from 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. at Festival Park.
Officials say funds raised through the relay allow CCS to invest in life-saving research, provide trusted cancer information and compassionate support programs to help people with cancer and their families cope with a diagnosis and advocate to governments for important social change.
