Lorne Riley, a small-town boy who hails from Shania’s birthplace in Northern Ontario, is an emerging Canadian independent singer/songwriter who released his debut country album “Twenty Years” including the title track as a single across North America earlier this year.
His new single “Wish I Was Broke”
comes from his yet-to-be-released second album Sweet Pain which
is slated for full release in early 2020.
“Wish I Was Broke” gives an energetic
and unexpected take on the age-old theme that “money isn’t everything”. The
track also unveils an evolving style for the up-and-coming country artist who
is adding a fresh new voice to Canada’s country music scene.
Prior to turning his hand to country music, Lorne
cut his teeth on rock and blues as the front man for a series of bands in
Northern Ontario and later, in Dubai, as a singer/songwriter writing and
releasing three original albums (“Stone Unturned” (2014) with Mileage 51, and
When Worlds Collide (2017) and Out of the Blue (2019) with Monks on the
currently busy promoting this debut album while continuing to write and produce
his second album Sweet Pain, slated for completion by the end of the year and
release in early 2020.
