Since embarking on her musical career, Jordyn Pollard has already achieved many successes. From this she has earned a SCMA Youth Development Bursary, Saskatchewan Country Music Association Youth Talent Search winner and ample performance opportunities. Sharing the stage with the likes of Gord Bamford, Jo Jo Mason, Jade Eagleson and Brett Kissel, have been a highlight for this young artist. Jordyn was accepted to perform at the 30th Anniversary of Saskatchewan Country Music Awards on their songwriters’ stage.
Building on her social platforms,
Jordyn has been recognized by Kelsea Ballerini, for her cover of ‘Yeah
Boy, Nashville Rising star Bailey Bryan on Twitter for the cover of
‘Hard Drive Home’; and by Levi Hummon for her cover of his song ‘I Still Do’.
Jordyn’s You Tube channel boasts thousands of subscribers and 100 video
postings including original, live performance and cover songs; gathering fans
from all over the world.
Growing up on a mixed farm near
Hillmond Saskatchewan, with her 2
siblings and attending a small town country school, Jordyn thrives on family
and community spirit. Jordyn was involved with the local 4-H, but has since
decided farming wasn’t quite her niche’ but continues to help when needed. An
honour student and active in many school and community events. Jordyn is a Red
Cross Anti Bullying Advocate; giving presentations to elementary and middle
school students on bullying and the effects it has on those being bullied. She
is looking for a position with the Big Brothers Big Sisters after school
mentorship program to continue educating younger people.
Jordyn has had leading roles in
numerous musical theatre productions garnering them from being part of the
school’s Musical Theatre program which she continues to partake in. Jordyn has
been part of the school leadership for the last 4 years as well as being
actively involved with school sports.
Jordyn is very involved and committed
to using her talents in assisting with many local community and non-profit
initiatives. Currently having contributed to the Canadian National Institute
for the Blind (CNIB) ‘Concert in the Dark’, Parkinson Alberta’s Step and
Stride, and ‘Jammin at the Jube’ in Lloydminster supporting Autism.
Pollard is continually honing her song
writing skills while working towards her debut EP. She will be recording with
the award winning Bart McKay (Brett Kissel, Gord Bamford) in
Saskatoon, Sask. With her passions of music, family and travelling, one can be
sure the songs on this debut EP will have stories to tell.
