Canadian Coast to Coast is presented by The Eagle River Casino and Travel Plaza in Whitecourt.

My special guest is Billy Simard.

“You Should Know By Now” is Billy Simard’s latest radio release. With a long extensive career in the music industry he has had in excess of 50 songs that have been recorded by himself and other artists including Kimberley Dawn, Donna Henry, Ray St. Germain, David St. Germain, Tom Dutiaume and Ernest Monias. Some of his songs have been published by Al Jolsen of Black and White music in Nashville.

Billy won the Manitoba Association of Country Music Songwriter of the Year award in 1991. In 1999 he also took home the award for Country/Folk Album of the Year in the first Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards. He was inducted into the Manitoba Aboriginal Music Hall of Fame in 2011. His first album in 1980 saw two songs reach top 10 on Canadian Country radio . Billy’s song “Rescue Me” was in the semi-finals in the International Songwriting Competition. He also received 2 nominations in the 2017 Native American Music awards.

Billy will tell us about his awards, plus his new tune “You Should Know By Now”.

1pm MT on XM105fm.
