The Whitecourt and District Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair is making its comeback.
The Trade Fair had to be cancelled for the past two years due to COVID-19 restrictions, but the Whitecourt Chamber is getting ready to host the event in May 2022.
Mark Dickin, president of the Whitecourt and District Chamber of Commerce, says it is good to be back.
“It is really important for our members, our businesses, to show their wares and have potential customers and public come and visit and become educated,” shares Dickin.
But it is not just Whitecourt businesses. Dickin estimates that around 20 per cent of participating businesses come from outside Whitecourt, making the event a good networking opportunity.
One Chamber member that has already signed on for the Trade Fair is the Town of Whitecourt. At the Town’s March 28 council meeting, the Town officially booked their booth.
Whitecourt mayor Tom Pickard says its great to see the event returning.
“It highlights many many local businesses and it provides people in the community an opportunity to mix with and talk with business people in town and see what is out there,” states Pickard.
Dickin shares they have averaged between 2700 and 3000 people coming out in the past, but admits that since this is their first Trade Fair in two years, it’s unknown how many people may come out.
“Some people are happy to be out and about, and some are still getting their feet wet and seeing how interested they are,” explains Dickin.
The Whitecourt and District Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair runs from May 27 – 29, 2022, at the Scott Safety Centre and the Whitecourt Curling Rink.
Dickin estimates around 50 booths are still available. To book your booth, visit the Chamber’s website, www.whitecourtchamber.com, visit their Facebook page, or call the Chamber at 780-778-5363.
